If you’ve been following Dear Joie for a while, you’ll know that this beautiful space has grown in so many ways. Dear Joie started off as a jewelry business – handwritten notes and names were always a signature in my packaging process. Dear Joie was founded through what gave me the most happiness and wanting to strive to inspire that same joy into people's everyday lives.

I first started my calligraphy practice back in 2016 and kept it as a close personal hobby but it wasn’t until I started playing around with pointed nibs in 2021 that boosted my confidence in my calligraphy.

I can remember the first time I learned how to handwrite. It was in the Philippines for the first time, I was five years old. My aunt brought me with her to school, where she was teaching her students how to handwrite– never did I imagine that over a decade later, I would be using this skill as a career.
